For over 25 years, Ombassa Sophera has offered tools and services that inspire and create healthy lifestyles. Ombassa’ssuccess include the development of empowerment organizations, musical productions and events that provide recognition and enhancement of one’s own gifts Founder of the Natural Healers Network, Akefa Global Village/Arts of Empowerment for Youth and Co-Founder of D’Vine Artz Productions, and Life Conversations Radio, Ombassa has used these platforms to share her innate wisdom, her knowledge of herbal medicine and her love of the arts to assist people to get from where they are, to where they want to be in life.

Internationally known for her ability to zero in on any life issue – physical, mental, emotional or spiritual –her clients realize their goals, dreams and aspirations.

Ombassa was initiated into the health and wellness field through her love and commitment to finding options for ultimate health and well-being for her family. After years of study and providing health empowerment events, she began facilitating her signature workshop in 1997, “Taking Responsibility for Your Health and Well-Being”.  Since then, she has combined those years of experience and study with her innate gifts and abilities, assisting others who seek solutions to the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical health issues that cause imbalances in their lives.

Since 2011, Ombassa has been offering POWER P.L.A.Y. (Passionately Love and Appreciate YOU!) workshops, ‘play’-shops and private sessions to individuals, couples, and corporate & public groups who aspire to move to the next level in their lives in health, relationships and careers.  P.L.A.Y. is a positive experience designed to help, encourage, and guide people to realize, develop and express more of the life they were born to live.

POWER P.L.A.Y. Personal Sessions restore power outages experienced on a daily basis. These personalized, unique sessions address past issues of “feeling stuck”, relationship breakdowns, grief and other blockages to ultimate well-being.  The primary object of each session is to co-design and establish a new life blueprint that will assist the navigation through life’s challenges and opportunities for growth.

The author of three books—Soul Journey to Truth, Inspire Yourself and ABC’s of Nature’s Best Herbal Tonics – and numerous article articles for health-oriented magazines worldwide, Ombassa is an inspired writer.  She is known also for her CDs, SolJoy in Love and Soul Journey to Truth.

 Meet Esther Brown, The Embracing Projectesther3

Esther Rodriguez Brown was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain; always concerned and involved in social issues she decided to attend Law School and Psychology School. She volunteered in an adult prison helping inmates and other non-profit organizations.

She arrived to the United States in 2001, and graduated with honors from University of Phoenix with a BS in Criminal Justice. In 2010 she earned an Executive Certificate on Juvenile Justice Reform in Georgetown University.

Mrs. Brown founded The Embracing Project in 2005 the organization’s mission is to promote Peace and Global Consciousness through the development of programs that enrich the lives of children, youth, and families around the world. One of the primary programs of The Embracing Project is educate the inner city youth in the United States who are involved in gangs and violent behaviors, about the similarities between gang activity and genocide through the experiences of the child soldiers around the world. Once a year The Embracing Project takes youth who have been involved in the criminal justice system to Liberia, Africa, to do humanitarian work with Temas Orphanage and former child soldiers as a part of their program completion. Currently The Embracing Project is building a school for 250 children in Liberia.

embracing1Mrs. Brown conducted the program “Gangs & Genocide: Healing the World Together” in a maximum security for juveniles for three years and currently in Clark County Detention Center with youth who are being send to the adult system. In addition, she works with youth female gang members who are being sexually exploited through their gangs.

In 2011 she was contracted as a consultant by Clark County District Courts as the Sexually Exploited Youth Court Administrator to create infrastructure, programs, and collaboration among Child welfare, Department of Juvenile Justice, Juvenile Courts, community organizations and providers to promote permanency, safety plans, and adequate services for dual involved sexually exploited children. The project was successfully completed in June 2013.

Mrs. Brown served as the co-chair of the Disproportionate Minority Representation and the Attorney General 2012 Legislature Committee for Sexual Exploitation, currently she is serving as a member of the Nevada Supreme Court Statewide Juvenile Justice Reform, Southern Nevada of Human Trafficking Training Committee, Board Member of The Starling Charter High School, and Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program appointed by the Mayer Carolyn Goodman.

Meet Cheri MareeCheri Maree in turquiose

“Souljazz” artist Cheri Maree, affectionately known by her audiences as “The Love Goddess”, continues to transform hearts with her dynamic music and vibrant stage presence.  Just returning from a successful tour in Japan, her power and passion for music have taken her to audiences throughout the world, where her current Love Sanctuary Concerts has been received with heartwarming accolades.

Her message of love and empowerment, and her dynamic stage presence have afforded Cheri the opportunity to share the stage with Grammy Award winning artists; Patti Labelle, Al Jarreau, Cheri Maree with Blythewood Jazz OrchestraBrian McKnight, Hootie and The Blowfish.

One of Cheri‘s most recent performances was at the prestigious Carnegie Hall with the Peacemakers Choir performing a vocal score composed and conducted by world renowned Karl Jenkins.

Cheri Maree Opening for Al JarreauCheri has blossomed into a vocalist capable of spanning genres such as jazz, rock, soul and gospel. Her musical eclecticism was captured brilliantly in her 2007 debut release Pure Voice.

The album garnered Cheri attention from the international independent soul community. Positive nods came from Soul Tracks and Soulchoonz, both highly respected by the soul music tastemakers all over the globe. As a musician and songwriter, this album gave her the opportunity to create inspirational life music about love and relationships that encourage the listener to move, groove and enjoy.

A recent collaboration with renowned producer and multi-instrumentalist Mo Pleasure has produced the phenomenal upcoming single entitled “Revival of a Love Story” from her sophomoric CD, 360 Degree Woman. As a humanitarian, Cheri has diligently worked in Columbia, SC for many years providing clothing, food and housing to those in need, working within organizations such as the Hope Project, Clark Estates of Columbia, and Jet Magazine.

Meet Dr. Imani Ma’at, Healthy Haiku Productions, LLCimani2

Dr. Imani Ma’at is an Acclaimed Author, Award-Winning Health Educator, Researcher and Poet with 22 years of experience at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as Health Scientist and Program Director. As the Director of a National Program to Eliminate Health Disparities (REACH 2010) she spear-headed a team of experts that guided and supported the efforts of community coalitions around the U.S. in the development of new and innovative approaches to chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer, HIV, heart disease, infant mortality and more.

Armed with the truth and an understanding of the urgent need for accurate information and skills to reduce risk for chronic diseases, Dr. Ma’at launched Healthy Haiku Productions. As the CEO of Healthy Haiku Productions, she has created Health and Wellness Workshops based on her scientifically evaluated and award-winning curriculum that infuses the arts in health education. Healthy Haiku Workshops also grew out of the Creative experience of Co-Directing her Teen Theater Group (YES 4 Health, Inc.) and through working with Mentors, Youth and Women’s organizations over the last 11 years. During workshops, participants learn about health issues and most importantly how to create a powerful life and environment that stimulates positive choices and healthy lives!imani1

omelika2Meet Omelika Kuumba, Giwayen Mata Dance and Drum Ensemble

Omelika is a founding member and director of GIWAYEN MATA where she is a writer, drummer, musical arranger, vocalist, choreographer, and dancer. She is a cultural arts educator, instructor of African Dance Forms in the Department of Drama and Dance at Spelman College, and instructor of African Dance Forms in the Department of Dance at Emory University.

A native of Brooklyn, NY and a graduate of Spelman College, Omelika is a master drummer, dancer, choreographer, musical arranger, cultural arts educator. She has studied under the direction of master dancers and percussionists in this country and in Senegal, West Africa. Other highlights of her career include performing at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, teaching choreography at Trollwood Performing Arts School in North Dakota, and teaching music and choreography in Stuttgart, Germany, Hastings, England and Bermuda. She directs Ashietu, the Sisters Chapel African Dance Ministry at Spelman College. Omelika is an instructor and workshop leader and lecturer of music and dance at various schools and programs to expand awareness and appreciation of African dance and music.

Omelika3She has been a consultant for the Atlanta Public Schools Gifted and Talented Program and the National Black Arts Festival. Omelika has played with vocalists including Dionne Farris, Goapele, Laurnea, Wunmi, Doria Roberts, Donnie, and Rahbi. Her commercial and television credits include being a featured guest on several cable television programs and being a percussionist for an American Cancer Society anti- smoking campaign with Mike E. Sis.

omelika1Omelika has performed in several national music and dance productions in Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival, National Black Arts Festivals, WOFABE, National Women’s Music Festival and DanceAfrica NY, Dallas and Chicago. Omelika was a first round winner with GIWAYEN MATA in the third season of NBC Television’s America’s Got Talent. She appeared as one of the African dance teachers for women on the Real Housewives of Atlanta series on Bravo television. She also performed as the percussionist in the play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf under the direction of Ms. Jasmine Guy. In addition to other awards that she has received with GIWAYEN MATA, Omelika is the recipient of awards from Women of Multi-Ethnicity and Nationality and USA Magazine, Fulbright Scholarship for studies in Ghana, West Africa, as well as the Ruby Gem Drama and Dance student departmental award at Spelman College. She is also listed in Who’s Who in Black Atlanta.

Hailing from Oakland, CA, Tambra inspires total health and well-being while teaching and performing. For the past 15 years she has been a performer, choreographer, teacher and Rehearsal Director of Giwayen Mata– specializing in dances, songs, and rhythms of the tambra1African Diaspora. She currently teaches dance at Charles R. Drew Charter School where she has successfully developed 3 dance ensembles for students grades 3-8. Tambra is the founder of Dancing SOL Productions whose mission is to promote unity and philanthropy through artistic and humanitarian projects surrounding dance as it is employed for performance, education, exercise, creative expression, and cultural exchange.

Tambra Harris was born and raised in Oakland, CA where she began studying dance as a sophomore at Skyline High School under the tutelage of Dawn James.  Once in Atlanta, she continued to dance during her college career as a member of the Spelman College Dance Theater, the Harry Bryce African-American Dance Theater, and Ayoluwa African Dance Ensemble.  Some of her performance highlights include KATONGA, a Broadway style musical in Busch Gardens Tampa, FL and TLC’s music video Girl Talk. To add to her credits she has studied and performed under the direction of world renowned African and Contemporary dancers and choreographers such as Abdulaye Camara, Assane Konte, Youssouf Koumbassa, Marie Basse Wiles, Djian Tie, Omelika Kuumba, Kwame Azalius Ross, Abdel Salaam, Ronald K. Brown, Jawole Zolar, Deborah Vaughn, Dr. Veta Goler, Pamelah Maragh, and Debbie Allen.

dora2Ms. Chambers launched her own business as an independent consultant in the telecommunications industry in 1994, specializing in marketing and business development.  By 1996, Ms. Chambers made history as the first African-American Woman to reach the position of Regional Vice President.  She has become a legend in the industry building an international organization of thousands of distributors that spans the globe; with millions of dollars in sales revenue.  Ms. Chambers has become one of the most requested trainers and speakers in the industry.

Out of this success, Ms. Chambers launched DDC Success Coach, a personal & professional development consultant firm.  Blessed to tell her story, Ms. Chambers now travels the world moving her audiences to laugher and tears as she translates her life’s lessons into a powerful message of Hope & Possibilities.  Teaching that Success is not only possible; but Necessary!

In 2001, Ms. Chambers launched her Women’s Empowerment Conference “Embracing the Journey” empowering thousands of women throughout the country.  She is also honored as a Keynote Speaker for many churches, schools, and organizations.  She develops and facilitates marketing and sales training for several organizations and companies.

As a passionate philanthropist, Ms. Chambers founded The Coyaba House Foundation in 1998; dedicated to working with homeless families and children in the U.S. and Ghana.  And in honor and loving memory of her best friend,  Joyce “Ann” Hilliard, and two dear friends and business associates, Kim Causby & Ms. Barbara Mathews, Ms. Chambers is devoted to raising awareness to Breast Cancer through Health & Wellness seminars and fundraisers; as the Founder of The Pink LadyBug Foundation.

In 2012, Ms. Chambers produced a major fundraiser event Speak Life, a showcase concert of a collage of Spoken Word & Musical Artists.   As a result of the major success, Speak Live has launched as an online television series; on three major online networks; with over 1.5 million viewers. Ms. Chambers is credited as co-producer, executive producer, and Speak Life TV show host.
